Impression and Facts

Non-Trivial.com offers a unique combination of impressions and facts, satire and information. Some statements may be dumb; others will be sharp. Personal opinions will be mixed with objective research. An insightful piece may be nested in the middle of two plain observations. Or vice versa.

We do not aim at being objective. That is supposed to be the turf of newspapers.

Style

The style is a mixture of notes and essays, bullets and paragraphs. Rough ideas and elaborate arguments, drafts and completed documents.

Non-Trivial.com is an interactive forum. We throw out opinions on a number of topics. We invite people to read them, agree or disagree. We invite E-mail comments, which we may post.

Scratch Pad

We even invite work on the original text. Readers may contribute directly, by mailing in a modified, expanded or improved version of an essay. If the Editor likes it, it may be posted it in the place of the original piece.

Non-Trivial is meant to be a scratch pad. It is a living document, which will gradually refine itself as time goes on, through incremental additions and contributions from the public.

Guest Writers

We will accept original contributions from guest writers. These contributions may be added to an existing topic, or a brand new topic can be started for them. They may be anonymous, or signed. They may be invited, or unsollicited.

The conservative viewpoint is a priory suspect, unless it is backed up by irrefutable facts

Although we do occasionally express political opinions, we are really a-political

We will never take ourselves too seriously

We will not knowingly disseminate false information

We will not publish anything that sounds blatantly offensive, combative or bitter

We will not wage personal attacks

No pornography or racism (the former for legal reasons, the latter as a matter of deliberate choice)

We always maintain a good dose of optimism

We value a good sense of humor
